The Shots I am writing about have to be involved within the Preliminary Task. I decided to do some research concerning the shots and give an example as to what they are.
Shot Reverse Shot.
- The Camera shows one character looking at someone then another shot in which the other person is looking back. This an example of Hollywood Editing
Match on Action.
- A match on action is when a shot shows a character looking at something off screen and then cuts to a shot of what the person was actually looking at. This is continuity editing and helps the audience depict an idea as to what is happening.
180 Degree Rule
- The 180 Degree Rule is the spatial relationship between a separate characters on screen. An imaginary axis connecting the characters allows for the camera to have shots from either side of the actors.
All of these shot I feel I understand to the best of my abilities and I look forward to trying each of them out when filming.
